Software Engineer | Systems Builder | Product-Minded Operator
I build practical systems, tools, and products.
I work across software engineering, test infrastructure, internal tooling, and startup-style product development - building things that are reliable, useful, and grounded in real-world constraints.
Software engineer in Electronic Warfare at Leonardo (Surveillance & Protection Technologies), shipping systems inside regulated environments.
Selected work
Work
SHAMAN Watchdog
Monitoring and recovery tooling for stress screening workflows.
Work
Raspberry Pi Test Harness
Distributed simulation and repeatable failure testing.
Work
Engineering Laptop Platform
Governed environments for reproducibility and consistency.
A software engineer focused on useful work
I build software that solves real operational problems.
My work spans structured engineering environments and fast-moving side projects, which has pushed me into a useful middle ground: part software engineer, part systems thinker, part product builder.
I am most effective where software meets reality - test environments, deployment workflows, internal platforms, operational tooling, and early-stage products that need to go from idea to something usable.
I care about delivery, clarity, and leverage. That usually means building systems and tools that make other people faster, reduce friction, and hold up in the real world.
Operating mode
- Practical engineering over theoretical polish.
- Systems thinking across software, tooling, and operations.
- Product instinct for what ships and gets used.
- Clear communication and useful handoffs.
Selected work
A mix of professional engineering work, internal platforms, and side-project apps.
Work
SHAMAN Watchdog
Monitoring and recovery tooling designed for environmental stress screening workflows, including health checks, automated recovery actions, and chamber control integration.
Work
Raspberry Pi Test Harness
A distributed simulation and test environment for validating recovery logic, endpoint behavior, and failure handling in a repeatable way.
Work
Engineering Laptop Platform
A reusable, governed laptop platform focused on reproducibility, deployment consistency, and reducing setup drift across teams.
Side Project
Attunem
TRT operating system that helps men track their journey, see progress, and own their protocol. Provider agnostic.
Side Project
MakeABooking
Appointment booking system for small businesses with no customer signup. Instagram followers to customers in minutes.
Railsmiths
Railsmiths
MVP builds, pragmatic Rails and web app consulting, and practical support for developers and career changers.
What I do best
Four strengths that show up across my work.
Systems and operational tooling
I design software that works in real environments - systems that interact with hardware, networks, test processes, and operational constraints.
Internal tools and platform thinking
I build tools and workflows that increase team capability, improve consistency, and reduce repetitive effort.
Product development
I build and ship products outside day-job work too, which keeps my thinking sharp around speed, usability, and commercial value.
Teaching and enablement
I help people get unstuck, level up, and make practical progress through mentoring and clear explanations.
Railsmiths
Railsmiths is my vehicle for building MVPs, offering practical consulting, and helping people become more capable software builders.
MVP Builds
Working products for founders and early ideas that need momentum, not endless planning.
Consulting
Practical help with Rails apps, web products, technical direction, debugging, architecture, and shipping.
Teaching and Career Support
Hands-on support for students, bootcamp grads, and career changers trying to build projects and improve their thinking.
Why Railsmiths
Practical progress, not fluff
The offer is built for founders, small teams, developers, and career changers who want clear direction and useful momentum.
Current focus
Right now I am focused on a mix of engineering, product, and enablement work:
- Building software and internal tools that solve real problems.
- Growing side projects into sharper product bets.
- Developing Railsmiths as an MVP, consulting, and teaching offer.
- Exploring ideas in software, defence-adjacent tooling, and useful vertical products.
